Hope at a leadership banquet in 2008

Hope Ditto is a print and multimedia journalist who specializes in covering issues related to politics and public affairs. She received her B.A. from The George Washington University in May 2010, where she majored in Political Communication and minored in International Affairs with a concentration in International Politics.

Driven by her passion for politics, Ditto spent the 2008 general election cycle as an ABC News Political Unit intern, co-writing ABC's daily news digest The Note with senior political reporter Rick Klein. As an active member of the ABC Washington Bureau's Political Unit, Ditto also covered news and events for the ABC News blog, Political Radar (now "The Note").

Ditto also worked as a Press Intern on the Hill for Senator George V. Voinovich and as an Advertising and Communications Intern for Chong+Koster, a new media advertising firm. Through all of these experiences, Ditto gained a valuable understanding of the interplay between the government, the media and the private sector and is skilled in navigating between and within the three. Additionally, Ditto is a managing hostess at the Clyde's of Georgetown restaurant.

Not only did Ditto intern and/or work every semester of her undergrad, she was also active in several campus organizations and publications. A proud member of the Kappa chapter of the Phi Sigma Sigma sorority, Ditto served as the 2008 Vice President of Membership Recruitment and as the Panhellenic Association 2009 Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations. In recognition of her outstanding leadership and service, Ditto was selected as a finalist for the Greek Woman of the Year award in 2010. Ditto also served as the News and Events Editor for the GW Discourse undergraduate political science quarterly and as a staff writer for the Daily Colonial. She was the 2008 Student Coordinator for the Experience D.C. presemester program and a member of the Senior Class Gift Committee her senior year. In honor of all of this, Ditto received special recognition for her outstanding leadership within The George Washington University's 2010 graduating class.

In her free time, Ditto enjoys running, playing soccer and exploring the District. Originally from San Clemente, Calif., Ditto also loves spending time at the beach. Though after four years she is beginning to adjust to the seasons, she still misses the lack of humidity and the opportunity to catch a few waves on her hot pink longboard surfboard.
